TRUSTING GOD LIKE A LITTLE CHILD

TRUSTING GOD LIKE A LITTLE CHILD

Have you ever wondered why Christians are called believers? Believers, just like little children, embrace their parents' words with unwavering faith. They don't attempt to unravel every mystery before accepting truths.

In the Bible, what we often see as extraordinary faith is actually childlike faith. It's the faith of ordinary people who simply chose to believe without complications. Take Abraham, for example. Despite being an adult, he had the faith of a little child, just as Jesus described in Matthew 18:3-4. Abraham believed God's promise to lead him to an unknown land (Genesis 12:1-5) and to grant him a son in his old age (Genesis 15:1-6).

Though he had every reason to doubt, Abraham chose to trust that God would faithfully fulfill His promise. In Abraham's mind, God's word was enough to believe that it would unquestionably come true.

Hebrews 11:8 says, "It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance."
Abraham's faith was remarkable. He took God's instructions as they were, without processing doubts or objections. He didn't argue with God about his final destination but rather trusted that His word was sufficient, compelling him to take action and do whatever God required of him.

Abraham's faith can be compared to that of a little child. Little children possess a natural inclination to trust. They believe without complications, without needing to understand everything before they believe.

I won't describe myself as someone who is highly logical but now and then, I catch myself trying to understand an instruction from God before I commit to doing or believing it. How about you? Do you find yourself overthinking things sometimes?

Having faith to believe something, no matter how long it takes, is like the trust of a child. It's an unwavering commitment to believe in the promise, without the need for immediate proof or explanations.

"Let us seize and hold tightly the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is reliable and trustworthy and faithful [to His word]."

Hebrews 10:23 (Amp)
